GOAL KEEPER TRAINING PROGRAM

PBG Goalkeeper Academy 2020-2021

We are excited to continue to grow this unique program as part of our offerings for players representing Palm Beach Gardens during the 2020-2021 season. We have continued to work hard to ensure goalkeepers do not need to go anywhere outside of the club to receive specialist training something which many travel clubs have failed to do.

The goalkeeper position is a forever evolving and unique position, one that can only be truly appreciated by those who have played it themselves. That is why we pride ourselves on the standard of our coaches who have all played in goal at collegiate level and have an array of experience within the position that they are ready to pass on to the next generation.

Our PBG training methodology is made up of four cornerstones:

  • Game Orientated
  • Age Appropriate
  • Goal Orientated
  • Player Orientated

These cornerstones ensure each session is specifically designed to be the most effective for those participating in it. Separate sessions are held for 7v7, 9v9, 11v11, DPL and ECNL levels, allowing small player to coach ratios and specific session planning to be carried out.

Our PBG Training Philosophy has been designed to ensure each session provides a good mix of structured v fluid components, exposing the goalkeepers to specific techniques and then match realistic scenarios to use these techniques within.

We have defined the six major training components that form the focus for each individual session ensuring goalkeepers gain full exposure to every side of the game.

To find out more about our methodology, philosophy and training components please take a minute to review our PBG GK Academy PDF.
